[ Author's Note: I didn't really change that much in this review and re-draft. Like I've said before, I'm not the type of person who likes to cut out or change a lot and mostly just fix the grammar and punctuation but here you go. . . ]
Here I am waiting. I'll have to leave soon. Why am I holding on? Eric Masters stared up at the ceiling with a deep scowl, one naked arm resting at his side against the bed, the other wrapped tightly around Sarah's shoulders, her naked and willowy body draped over his toned and muscular body. He looked wistfully in the direction of the window, the waning moon casting a soft glow against the cheap white cotton linens. They weren't the worst, but they weren't the best either. At least they weren't like sandpaper on his balls. A sigh escaped him as he looked down at her. What the hell am I doing? This wasn't like him. He wasn't the type of guy who spent the night at a woman's apartment, let alone linger around to cuddle after two amazing rounds of sex. And yet, here he was. Slowly, he let his hand trail up and down her spine, his strong, slender fingers caressing her soft, sun-kissed skin. He glanced in the direction of the nightstand.
4:10 A.M.
He dragged a hand through the waves of his short, brown hair and exhaled sharply, his gaze wandering back to the window. Daylight would soon be approaching and he needed a change of clothes. No way in hell was he wearing the same outfit two days in a row.
If you don't get your ass moving, you will. He rolled his eyes. Sarah began to stir.
Shit. His heart thudded. Frozen in panic, he slowly turned his head, looking down at her.
She moaned softly, her soft strawberry blonde hair caressing the ridges of his abdomen as she turned her head. Her warm breath rushing over his flesh, sending a wave of heat straight to his member. He trembled and bit his lip, stifling a groan.
Slowly, she turned her head, peering up at him with a tired smile, grogginess stealing the light from her hazel eyes. “Hey.”
“Hey, gorgeous.” He smiled softly, reaching out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
She blinked as if she were seeing him for the first time. “You're still here.”
I shouldn't be. “For now. But I gotta head out soon. I have to be at work in a few hours.”
She nodded, folding her arm over his chest and resting her chin on her hand. “Right. Of course you do.” Casting her eyes to his chest, she scowled, her light shapely brows drawing together. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen.”
He froze, furrowing his brows in contempt. “Excuse me?”
“Oh--” her head shot up, “no! Not that. That was. . .”
Heart pounding, he regarded her with a cock of his brow. Go on, say it.
A blush rose in her cheeks, a naughty smile creeping across her face. “Amazing.”
He beamed from ear-to-ear. That's what I thought.
“What I meant was, I didn't mean to keep you this late. No doctor should have to function without sleep. I'm sorry.”
He shook his head. “Don't be.” Plunging his fingers into her hair, he found the nape of her neck and drew her closer. Capturing her lips, he rewarded her with a tender kiss, yet another first for him since he never did anything tenderly.
